Big crowds gathered on Whitehall to protest against the imprisonment of Tommy Robinson on contempt of court charges. Robinson had been filming outside a court room which contained defendants accused of grooming children. He was arrested and swiftly sentenced to 13 months in prison. His supporters gathered in London to voice their disproval. As the day progressed there would be some outbreaks of violence as Robinson supporters clashed with police in the Trafalga Square area.
